Luis' father was Francisco De Francisco and his mother was Felipa Martínez (González).  His maternal grandparents were  Román Martínez (González) and  Petra González (De Frutos).  He is the oldest of eight children.  He had two brothers and five sisters, named Julián , Santos, Mª Jesús, Petra, Pilar, Amparo and Isabel.
