Ricardo was born in 1957.  Ricardo's father was Eladio Melero (García) and his mother is Pilar Arranz (De Andrés).  His paternal grandparents were Ricardo Melero (González) and Felicitas García (Sacristán).  He is the oldest of two children.  He has a brother named José María.
