John was born about 1785.  John's father was Andrew Linklater and his mother was Elizabeth Arthurson.  He was an only child.  He died on September 4th, 1858 in 21 Sugarhouse Lane, Aberdeen.  His burial was in St Clements Churchyard, Aberdeen.
