Adam was born in 1823 in Eldister, Sandwick and his baptism took place on March 2nd, 1823 in Sandwick.  Adam's father was Hendry Leask and his mother was Christina Sinclair.  His paternal grandparents were George Leask and Martha Mouat; his maternal grandparents were Adam Sinclair and Elspeth Leslie.  He had a brother named William.  He was the older of the two children.  He died at the age of 36 on March 5th, 1859 in Ireland, Sandwick.
