  • He was the Naataanmaigoundar of Selliampatti. He owned  large area of land extending from Selliampatti till Kadukkaapatty.
    When the epidemic Cholara broke out in Selliampatti, he shifted his residence and family to the present area, little away from inside selliampatti. This area or part of the village was described for his fertility, according to a oral tradition, as  the garden of Adam (singaarathoppu), around 25 years ago.
    Hindues were also living at this place and they have been worshipping their God. It was a beautiful atmosphere because of the fertility and the co-existence of both Hindues and Christians.
