Joseph's father is Sebasthian (Muthusamy Vaathiyaar) and his mother is Pragasamari.  His paternal grandparents are Rajendiran (Kanniyappan), Narthampattiyan and Maria Soosaiyamma. He has a brother and four sisters, named Arulraj, Amalorpavamary, Regina Mary, Rose Mary and Fathimamari. He has five half-brothers and two half-sisters, named Rajendiran, Sebasthian, Lourdudoss, Maria Joseph, Joseph, Pragasamari and Anthoniammal.
