Gnanamani's father is Rayappan, Uppukaarer and his mother is Sathaanantham.  His paternal grandparents are Madalaimuthu and Siluvaiyammal; his maternal grandparents are Devani Madalaimuthu and Siluvaiyammal. He has six brothers and three sisters, named Singarayan, Diviyanathan, Nesamani, Arul Jothi, Jeyaseelan, Benjamin, Apoorva Mary, Maria and Athisayamary.
