Gertrude was born in 1878.  Gertrude's father was John  Charles Harwar and her mother was Evlyn  Lambert.  Her paternal grandparents were Richard Harwar and Sarah Proffit. She had two brothers and a sister, named Alex, John and Clarice.  She was the second oldest of the four children.  She died at the age of 55 in 1933.
