Douglas was born in 1908.  Douglas' father was Ernest Duff and his mother was Edith M Bostock.  His paternal grandparents were James Duff and Margaret  Howard. He had a sister named Barbara.  He was the younger of the two children.  He died at the age of 68 in 1976.
