Thankful was born on May 25th, 1681.  Thankful's father was Thomas Webster and her mother was Abigail Alexander.  Her paternal grandparents were Governor John Webster and Agnes Smith; her maternal grandparents were George Alexander and Susannah. She had two brothers and four sisters, named George, John, Abigail, Abigail, Elizabeth and Mary.  She was the youngest of the seven children.
