Robert I was born in 0999 in Normandy, France.  Robert I's father was RIchard II Duke of Normandy and his mother was Judith Bretagne Princess of Brittany.  His paternal grandparents were Richard I Duke of Normandy and Emma Capet; his maternal grandparents were Conan I De Bretagne Compte and Ermangarde De Anjou Countess of Anjou . He had a brother named RIchard III.  He was the younger of the two children.  He died at the age of 35 on July 2nd, 1034 in Nicea, Turkey.
