Helen was born in 1190.  Helen's father was Valdimir I King of Denmark and her mother was Shopia Valdimirovna of Novogorod.  Her paternal grandparents were Canute Lavard the Pious and Ingeborg of Kiev. She had two brothers and two sisters, named Canute VI King of Denmark, Valdimir II King of Denmark, Inegurg and Rixa.  She died at the age of 43 in 1233.
