George was born in 1893.  George's father was Frederick Augustus III King of Saxony and his mother was Louise of Tuscany.  His paternal grandparents were George King of Saxony and Maria Anna of Portugal. He had two brothers and three sisters, named Frederick Christen, Earnest Henry, Margaret, Maria and Anna.
