Francis was born in 1497.  Francis' father was John King of Denmark, Norway, and Sweden and his mother was Christina of Saxe.  His paternal grandparents were Christen I King of Denmark, Norway, and Sweden and Dorthea of Bradenburg. He had a brother and a sister, named Christen II King of Denmark, Norway, and Sweden and Isabella.  He was the youngest of the three children.  He died at the age of 14 in 1511.
