Emanuel was born in 1926.  Emanuel's father was Frederick Christen and his mother was Elizabeth of Thurn and Taxis.  His paternal grandparents were Frederick Augustus III King of Saxony and Louise of Tuscany. He had a brother named Albert.  He was the older of the two children.
