Anna was born in 1568.  Anna's father was John III King of Sweden and her mother was Catherine Jagellonica of Poland.  Her paternal grandparents were Gustalf I (Gustav Eriksson "Gustav Vasa") King and Regent of Sweden and Margareta Leijonhufvud. She had a brother named Sigsmund King of Sweden and Sigsmund III King of Poland.  She was the younger of the two children. She had a half-brother named John Duke of Ostergotland.  She died at the age of 57 in 1625.
