Dorothy was born in 1554. Dorothy's father was Thomas Gooch and her mother was Joane. Her paternal grandparents were Peter Gooch and Unknown. She had three brothers and three sisters, named Robert, Peter, John, Elizabeth, Susan and Bridget. She was the third youngest of the seven children.
