Pedro I. was born in 1524 in La Coruna. Pedro I.'s father was Fernando-Ruiz I. Castro de Portugal, de and his mother was Teresa Andrada y Ulloa, de. His paternal grandparents were Diniz Portugal-Castro, de and Brites Castro-Osorio, de. He had a brother and two sisters, named Nuno, Isabella and Francisca. He died at the age of 66 in 1590 in Madrid. He was buried in Villa de Chinchon.
