Petrus was born in 1757 in Schelle, Antwerp, Belgium.  Petrus' father is Cornelius Thys and his mother is Anna Theresia Slepens.  His paternal grandparents were Joannes Thys and Elizabeth Corbisiers; his maternal grandparents are Christophorus Slepens and Anna Huybrechts.  He was an only child.  He died at the age of 71 on October 8th, 1828 in Niel, Antwerp, Belgium.
