Margaret was born in 1302 in Ashington, Somerset, , England.  Margaret's father was Matthew DeFurneaux and her mother was Matilda DeRalegh.  Her paternal grandparents were Matthew DeFurneaux and Mrs Matthew Furneaux; her maternal grandparents were Warin DeRalegh and Joanna Boteler. She had a brother and two sisters, named Simon, Elianor and Hawise Avis.  She was the youngest of the four children. She had a half-sister named Margaret.  She died at the age of 63 in 1365 in Ashington, Somerset, , England.
