Daniel Pieter Treurniet

Daniel was born in January 1830 in Stellenbosch, Western Cape, South Africa and his baptism took place there on January 28th, 1830. Daniel's father was Willem Georg Treurniet and his mother was Elizabeth Margaretha Rosseau. His paternal grandparents were Johann Gerdes Trauernicht and Dorothea van der Schijff. He had four brothers and a sister, named Johannes, Willem, Gideon, Mathys and Martha. He was the third oldest of the six children.
