John was born on June 17th, 1871 in Missouri.  John's father was John Claussen Remmers and his mother was Gretje Janssen Trauernicht.  His maternal grandparents were Jan Frieden Trauernicht and Almt Mennen Frerichs. He had two sisters named Almuth "Emma" and Hilka.  He was the second oldest of the three children.  He died at the age of 70 on July 24th, 1941 in Beatrice, Gage County, Nebraska.




John's family

John and Margaret were married in a religious ceremony on March 14th, 1895.  They had two daughters named Gretje and Ina.
