Namke, known as Nancy, was born on October 4th, 1808 in Aurich-Oldendorf, Lower Saxony, Germany.  Nancy's father was Pebe Focken and her mother was Anke (Jürgens) Claassen.  Her paternal grandparents were Focke Mennen and Seede Harms; her maternal grandparents were Clas Jürgens and Nantke Weeken. She had three brothers and four sisters, and also a sibling of unknown gender, named Focke, Claass, Harm, Seede, Töbke, Ehe, Antje and Peben.  She died at the age of 63 on November 20th, 1871 in Corning, Holt County, Missouri.

Nancy and Tamme were married in a religious ceremony on May 28th, 1832 in Aurich-Oldendorf, Lower Saxony, Germany.  They had five sons and three daughters, named Frediedric, Peter, Heye, Focke, Johann, Antje, Antke and Seede.
