Gertrude was born on September 19th, 1909 in Monett, Lawrence County, Missouri.1   Gertrude's father was Albert H. Gripka and her mother was Barbara Korba.  Her paternal grandparents were Jacob Gripka and Mary Daus. She had a brother named Glennan.  She was the older of the two children.  She died at the age of 37 on December 27th, 1946 in Aurora, Lawrence County, Missouri.  She was buried on December 31st, 1946 at the Mount Calvary Cemetery, Aurora, Lawerence County, Missouri.1 1
