John was born on September 1st, 1802 in Northumberland County, Pennsylvania, USA.1 John's father was William Taylor and his mother was Ann Wilson. His maternal grandparents are Joseph Wilson and Mary Speddy. He was an only child. He died at the age of 87 on May 30th, 1890 in Wright County, Iowa, USA. He was buried in Oak Shade Cemetery.-
