Edward Todd was born on June 17th, 1861 in Columbus, Franklin, Ohio, United States. Edward Todd's father was Edward Franklin Bingham and his mother was Susannah F. Gunning. His paternal grandparents were Warner Bingham and Lucy Wheeler. He had a brother and three sisters, named Harry, Lucy, Edith and Delia. He was the second youngest of the five children.
