Nicolaas Johannes van Blerk

Nicolaas was born on May 4th, 1844. Nicolaas' father was Nicolaas Johannes van Blerk and his mother was Elizabeth Johanna Stagman. His paternal grandparents were Nicholaas van Blerck and Louisa Johanna Kats. He had seven brothers and three sisters, named Johannes, <Unknown>, Jacobus, Simon, Samuel, Jacob, Gerhardus, Carolina , Louaisa and Johanna.

- Owned virtually whole of Kalk Bay extending from Clovelly towards Muizenberg as well as land over the mountain. " Their farmhouse know as "Die Opstal" - "The Homestead" exists just below Boyes Drive bounded by Clairvaux Road, Lock Street and Anderson Street. Address is 2 Anderson rd
