Captain Leon Quizon Mercado

Captain Leon was born on April 18th, 1878.  Captain Leon's father was Jose Trivino Mercado and his mother was Dorotea Moxica Quizon.  His paternal grandparents were Gregorio Mercado and Eulalia Trivino; his maternal grandparents were Vicente Quizon and Gregoria Moxica. He had a brother and two sisters, named Nemesio, Concorcia and Maria.  He died at the age of 83 on June 20th, 1961.

• General Notes

  The kapitan was born  in San Juan, Batangas. He was a pianist and played his favorite Sarong Banggi often. Studied at San Juan de Letran. Kapitan Leon called his wife "sama." He captured an American soldier during the war. He showed pity by not harming the soldier. The soldier taught Kapitan Leon English with General Malvar.
