William Whytton Meredyth was born on March 15th, 1844 in , Horta, Ilha do Faial, Açôres - PORTUGAL.  William Whytton Meredyth's father was John Meredyth Read and his mother was Ana Whytton da Camara da Cunha Brum Terra e Silveira.  His paternal grandfather was John Read , esq. and his paternal grandmother is Luisa Mitchell Meredith; his maternal grandparents were José Sebastião Whytton da Câmara and Maria Clementina da Cunha Brum Terra e Silveira. He had two brothers and four sisters, named Mary Whytton, John W., Luise Whytton, Anne W., Carolina Whytton and Guilhermina Whytton. He had a half-sister named Evelina Borges.  He died at the age of 91 on May 3rd, 1935 in Matriz, Ribeira Grande, Ilha de São Miguel, Açôres - PORTUGAL.
