Miguel Joaquim de Almeida e was born on July 26th, 1749 in Sé, Angra do Heroísmo, Ilha Terceira - AÇÔRES. Miguel Joaquim de Almeida e's father was Capitão Fabião António de Almeida Tavares e Arruda and his mother was D. Vivência Marianna do Canto Merens Pamplona. He had four brothers and six sisters, named António de Almeida Tavares do, José Narciso de Almeida e, Bruno, Ponciano Bruno de, Mariana Isabel do Canto Merens, Bernarda Escolástica do, Antónia Balbina do, Maria Bárbara do, Anna Amália do Canto and Violante de. He was the oldest of the eleven children. He died at the age of 49 on August 6th, 1798 in Sé, Angra do Heroísmo, Ilha Terceira - AÇÔRES.General Notes
Solteiro e «innepto para tudo pela sua total demencia», (A.N.T.T., D. P.C.E.I., M. 64 nº. 20), pelo que a administração da casa, que lhe caberia, passou a seu irmão António.
