Mariam was born in Lebanon, Beirut, Ashrafieh.  Mariam's father was Salim Abou-Rjeily and her mother was Labibe Bedran Abou-Rjeily.  Her paternal grandfather is Bechara Abou-Rjeily. She had four brothers and two sisters, named Toufik, Georges, Najib, Gebran, Abbraxia and Marie.  She died in 1975.
