Najla was born in 1927.  Najla's father is Tanios Abou-Rjeily and her mother is Almaza Abou-Rjeily.  Her paternal grandfather is Khalil Abou-Rjeily. She had three brothers and two sisters, named Khalil, Georges, Elias, Afifé and Yvonne.  She was the second oldest of the six children.  She died at the age of 74 in 2001.
