Charles Whittamore

Charles was born on September 28th, 1933 in Richmond, Madison, KY.¹ Charles' father was Burgoyne (Bert) Whittamore and his mother was Lucy Combs. His paternal grandparents were Harrison Whittamore and Mary McNelly; his maternal grandparents were John Combs and Mamie (Mayme) Rose. He had a brother and a sister, named Ed / Edward and Pauline. He was the oldest of the three children. He died at the age of 70 on June 13th, 2004 in Dayton, Montgomery, OH. The funeral took place on June 16th, 2004 in W. Carrolton, OH and was arranged by Swart Funeral Home. His burial was on June 16th, 2004 at the Hillgrove Cemetary.¹¹

  WHITTAMORE, Charles L. Age 70 of W. Carrollton, passed away Sunday, June 13, 2004 at Hospice of Dayton. He was born September 28, 1933 in Richmond, KY, the son of the late Bert & Lucy (Combs) Whittamore. He was a retired employee of GM with 33 years of service, a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict, and a member of the VFW Post #3438, W. Carrollton.
  
  Preceded in death by his wife Martha L., in 1995. He is survived by his son Burgoyne B. Whittamore and wife Juanita of Kingsport, TN, 2 daughters Joyce A. Whittamore of W. Carrollton, and Sherry L. McCabe and husband Jeff of Greenville, OH, brother Ed Whittamore and wife Margaret of Dayton, sister Pauline Welch of Hamilton, OH, 4 grandchildren David Lee & Joshua Allen Whittamore both of Kingsport, TN, Jesse & Kalin McCabe both of Greenville, OH, and his friend Glenn Green of W. Carrollton.
  
  Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, June 16, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. from the SWART FUNERAL HOME, W. Carrollton. Burial will follow at the Hillgrove Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. If so desired memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton in his memory.
