Bernard Sherwin

Bernard was born in 1923. Bernard's father was Hymie Czerwinski (Sherwin) and his mother was Tillie Levine. His paternal grandparents were Benyamin Czerwinski and Chana Rochla Kruk (Weinberg). He had two brothers named Aaron and Edward. He died at the age of 86 on July 11th, 2009 in Cleveland, Ohio, USA.

General Notes
- Bernard Sherwin, a volunteer for numerous organizations, died July 11 at age 86. An active participant in RSVP (Retired Senior Volunteers Program), Mr. Sherwin volunteered as a ticket taker and usher for Playhouse Square Association and spent 40 years in a similar role at The Cleveland Play House. He was honored with the volunteer of the year award by The Children’s Museum Of Cleveland.
  
  Mr. Sherwin worked for the city of Cleveland, Bobbie Brooks and Campus Sportswear over the course of his career. A member of Forest City Hebrew Benevolent Association, he served as volunteer coordinator for the Cleveland Rib Burn-off. He enjoyed gardening, clipping coupons and playing card games. Mr. Sherwin loved sports, both as a participant and spectator, and worked as a ticket taker and usher for the Cleveland Indians and Browns. Later in his life, he took a trip to Japan.
  
  A graduate of John Adams High School, Mr. Sherwin received his associate’s degree from Fenn College. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of Jewish War Veterans.
  
  Mr. Sherwin was predeceased by his wife of 53 years, Clara, and son Terry Lee. He is survived by his son Barry (Shari Heimberger); one grandchild; two great-grandhildren; and brother Aaron of Boca Raton, Fla. Contributions are suggested to the Donna Smallwood Activities Center (formerly the Parma Senior Center.)
