Joost was born in June 1745 in Babyloniënbroek and his baptism took place there on June 20th, 1745.1  Joost's father was Lodewijk Lankhaar and his mother was Anneke Jansdr van Sintmaartensdijk.  His paternal grandparents were Joost Peterszn Lankhaar and Maeijcke Lodewijcksdr N.N.; his maternal grandparents were Jan Pieterszn van Sintmaartensdijk and Anneke Woutersdr van Cleef.  He was an only child.  He died at the age of 73 on July 30th, 1818 in Babyloniënbroek.1
