Bishop Marmaduke Lumley

Marmaduke's father was Baron Ralph De Lumley and his mother was Lady Eleanor Neville. His paternal grandparents were Sir Marmaduke Lumley and Mrs Margartet De Holand; his maternal grandparents were Mr John Neville and Mrs Maud Percy. He had four brothers and two sisters, named John, Robert, Thomas, William, Elizabeth and Catherine. He died in December 1450.

General Notes
- Chancellor of Cambridge University. Precentor of Lincoln, 1425. Exchanged for rectory of Stepney, 1427. Bishop of Carlisle, 1430 - Jan 1449/50. In consequence of the repeated incursions of the Scots, he found great difficulty, in supporting his episcopal dignity at Carlisle: he was translated to Lincoln, in 1449. Treasurer of England.
