Mary was born on July 28th, 1885 in Cumbria. Mary's father was George Hocking Vingoe and her mother was Margaret Armstrong. Her paternal grandparents were Israel Vingoe and Mary Hocking; her maternal grandparents were Harrison Armstrong and Margaret Ward. She had four brothers and a sister, named George, Almond, Albert, William and Nanna. She died at the age of 37 on April 16th, 1923 in Buffalo, Erie, New York, USA.
