Mehitable was born about 1703 in Taunton, Bristol, Massachusetts.¹ Mehitable's father was William Briggs and her mother was Mehitable Briggs. Her paternal grandparents were William Briggs and Sarah Briggs; her maternal grandparents are William Blake and Anne. She had three brothers and a sister, named Nathaniel, Elephalet, Seth and Agnes. She had a half-sister named Sarah. She died on September 8th, 1782.
