Walter Colby was born on October 24th, 1854.1   Walter Colby's father is Henry Thorndike Simpson and his mother was Eudocea Simpson.  His paternal grandfather was Calvin Simpson and his paternal grandmother is Simpson. He had four brothers and four sisters, named George Norris, Frank Henry, Henry Edgar, Freddie, Nellie Louise, Lizzie Frances, Clara Ada and Edith Maria. He had a half-sister named Florence Augustus.  He died at the age of 27 on September 28th, 1882.1
