Joshua was born on April 9th, 1719 in Cambridge, Middlesex, Massachusetts.1   Joshua's father was Henry Prentice and his mother was Elizabeth Rand.  His paternal grandparents were Soloman Prentice and Hepzibah Dunn Or Dunton; his maternal grandfather is William Rand. He had five brothers and four sisters, named Nathan, Caleb, Nathaniel, Thomas, Thomas, Martha, Elizabeth, Hepzibah and Sarah.  He died at the age of 69 on April 28th, 1788 in Holliston, Middlesex, Massachusetts.  He was buried in Holliston, Middlesex, Massachusetts.2
