Franklin was born on November 23rd, 1804 in Hillsborough, Hillsborough, New Hampshire.1   Franklin's father was Benjamin Pierce and his mother is Anna Kendrick.  His paternal grandparents are Benjamin Pierce and Elizabeth Merrill. He had four brothers and three sisters, named John Sullivan, Charles Grandison, Benjamin Kendrick, Henry Dearborn, Harriet, Charlotte and Nancy M.. He had a half-sister named Elizabeth.  He died at the age of 64 on October 8th, 1869.2
