Thomas Peabody

Thomas was born on October 31st, 1768. Thomas' father was John Peabody and his mother was Mary Peabody. His paternal grandfather was John Peabody and his paternal grandmother is Sarah Peabody; his maternal grandparents are Thomas Perley and Eunice Putnam. He had six brothers and three sisters, named John, William, Enoch, Aaron, Augustus, Aaron, Huldah, Betsey and Polly. He died at the age of 47 on July 9th, 1816.

General Notes
- He moved from Andover, MA to Peabody's Patent (Now Gilead, ME) in 1799. Peabody's Tavern in Gilead, built around 1800 for Thomas Peabody an early settler who came from Bridgton in 1798. An important stage stop on the route Portland to Lancaster. A few yards west of the Tavern is the Peabody Cemetary that contains graves of many of the Peabodys, including John, son of Thomas who was a prominent lumber manufacturer and public servant.
