Sarah was born on April 6th, 1704 in Boxford, Essex, Massachusetts.1   Sarah's father was Joseph Hale and her mother was Mary Hale.  Her paternal grandparents were Thomas Hale and Mary Watson; her maternal grandfather was William Watson and her maternal grandmother is Sarah Watson. She had five brothers and a sister, named Joseph, Jacob, Ambrose, Moses, Abner and Mary. She had three half-brothers and five half-sisters, named John, Benjamin, Thomas, Hannah, Hepzibah, Lydia, Margaret and Mary.2
