John was born about 1638 in Salisbury, Essex, Massachusetts.1   John's father was John Hoyt and his mother was Frances. He had two brothers and two sisters, named Gregorie, Thomas, Elizabeth and Frances. He had two half-brothers and six half-sisters, named Joseph, Joseph, Marah, Sarah, Mary, Naomi, Dorothy and Mehitable.  He died on August 13th, 1696 in Andover, Essex, Massachusetts.1
