Bertha was born in 1885.  Bertha's father was Edwin Abbott and her mother was Susan Frances Abbott.  Her paternal grandparents are Gideon 'Colson' Abbott and Cervilla Abbott; her maternal grandparents were William Freeman Stevens and Susan W. Stevens. She had a brother and a sister, named George H. and Susie M..  She was the youngest of the three children.  She died at the age of 84 in 1969.  She was buried in Abbott Mills Cemetery, Abbott Mills Cemetery, Rumford, Maine.
