Orison was born on January 23rd, 1825 in Rumford, Oxford, Maine.  Orison's father was Daniel Glines and his mother was Mary Glines.  His maternal grandparents were Benjamin Sweat and Mary (Molly) Sweat. He had five brothers and six sisters, named Daniel, Azariah, Orin, Valentine, Azariah, Edith, Sarah, Mahala, Mahala, Melissa W. and Hester Ann.  He was the sixth oldest of the twelve children.  He died at the age of 74 on July 23rd, 1899.  He was buried in Abbott Mills Cemetery, Abbott Mills Cemetery, Rumford, Maine.
