Zlate was born in 1889 in Serock, Pultusk, Warszaw, Poland.¹ Zlate's father was Meyer Moishe Pieniek and her mother was Miriam Reizel Berkerowicz. Her paternal grandfather was Jakob Pieniek and her paternal grandmother is <Unknown>. She had seven brothers and four sisters, named David (Eleazer?), Lejzor (Eleazer) Pinkus (Pinchas) (Pini), Eli (Ela), Joseph, Melech, Peisach, Yosef, Peie, Chava, Rivkah and Leah. She died in Biala, Podlaska, Poland.
