Genta was born on April 22nd, 1865 in Golub-Dobrzyn, Poland.1   Genta's father was Dawid Mendel Pieniek and her mother was Dassa Kraianek.  Her paternal grandparents were Eliasz Pieniek and Yenta Byszowswerder. She had a brother named Josek.  She was the younger of the two children.
