Faiga was born in 1940 in Kowel, Poland.1   Faiga's father is Aryeh Mandelbaum and her mother was Etil Eyal.  Her paternal grandfather is Yakov Mandelbaum and her paternal grandmother was Chaya Pina Levi; her maternal grandparents are Yechezkel Eyal and Glika. She had a sister named Adela.  She was the younger of the two children.  She died in the Holocaust at the age of 2 in 1942 in Kowel, Poland.
