Charles was born on September 19th, 1902 in Grimsby.1   Charles' father was Charles Blakeney (b Plaistow Engine fitter) and his mother was Ada Quickfall (b Ipswich fishhouse lab).  His paternal grandparents were Charles Blakeney (Fisherman (b Maidstone)) and Sarah Ann Crawley (b Barking); his maternal grandparents were George Quickfall (Game Keeper) and Elizabeth Ann Stourton (Sick Nurse). He had two brothers and three sisters, named Joshua, George, Hilda, Grace and Eva.  He was the third youngest of the six children.  He died at the age of 40 in 1942 in Thames Estury.
